One of our goals with the Earth Ship was to create a bike that looked as aesthetically pleasing as possible with high handlebars. The Rambler is a fully modern adaptation of the genre with disc brakes, thru axles and generous tire clearance. The world is vast and so are the possibilities, the Rambler invites you to fully explore them all. It has all the mounts a rider could want and geometry that is nimble while still being comfortable for long days in the saddle. As with all Wilde's we prefer bikes with higher stack heights, as our philosophy is that comfortable is fast. Being a production bike, we are able to offer this promise at a more affordable price point through our partnership with Taiwan's legendary Maxway factory. The steel fork does have a slightly longer axle to crown measurement than the Wayfinder which gives the bike a bit higher trail number and a slightly elevated bottom bracket height, both are bonuses when it comes to riding more challenging off-road terrain or pairing with 650b size wheels. Allowing you to be fast and efficient with an anti-gravity feel and laser-pointer precision. It begs you to climb more, go farther, and descend anything you may encounter along the way. You're rewarded with free speed as every pump and pedal stroke propels you forward while our SBG Geometry makes sure you're composed for every root, rock or switchback. Don't judge a book by its cover though, with all these lightweight and uphill oriented character traits the Spur requires no adjustment to descend like you're used to, you might actually go faster. Speed Balanced Geometry SBG ensures the bike maintains low speed agility, front wheel traction, and proper rider weight balance while actually increasing confidence in steep terrain and at high speeds. With SBG, a slacker head tube angle is combined with a reduced offset fork standard, preventing the front wheel from being too far in front of the rider. This improves front to rear weight distribution on the bike, which is often out of balance on long and slack bikes. One of SBG's greatest benefits is that it creates a confident steering feel that adapts to wheel speed. More stability when going fast, more agility on technical slow speed maneuvering as well as improved traction, control and confidence for any skill level of rider. Giddyup Suspension Design We want to make it as easy as possible to experience great rear suspension performance. The GiddyUp suspension system is designed to behave intuitively across a broad range of setup. Because, we get it, sometimes you just want to grab your bike and GiddyUp, without checking your setup. When you do, it will always feel good. With nearly 30% of progression and a consistent linear rate of change, the Spur has an excellent balance of support and small bump sensitivity. Anti-squat is tuned to enhance pedaling performance and acceleration but doesn't get in the way of the suspension working when it's needed. The GiddyUp suspension, featuring a one-piece flex stay rear triangle, is tuned to work correctly with inline style rear shocks and designed to provide a balanced feel with 120mm travel forks. Riders are able to add or remove volume spacers in the rear shock to suit their individual riding style and there is plenty of bottom out control for when things get rowdy. The Spur has 120mm of rear wheel travel when used with the supplied 190mm x 45mm stroke shock. It is also possible to install a shorter, 190mm x 37.5mm stroke shock, to reduce the rear wheel travel to 100mm if you are after a shorter travel experience. A wide usable sag range of 25 - 35% allows the rider to tune the feel of the bike; from firm and snappy, to more supple and active. Better still is that you now have the option of 650b wheel size. 650b wheels were popular for a long time many years ago on ‘Constructeur’ style bicycles and we all know how real stuff was back in the day…650b wheels strike a nice balance between the benefits of both 26” and 700c sizes. The smaller wheel allows smaller riders to fit well on smaller frames, produces a stronger wheel, makes fitting big-ass tires easier and are more agile than their larger counterparts. Straggler has disc caliper mounts instead of rim brake studs. It’ll accept rotors up to 160mm. The rear dropouts are unique, too. They’re a partially closed horizontal design that accommodates singlespeed or geared drivetrains. They feature stop screws that thread in from the rear to further secure the wheel and to position the rear wheel for optimal shifting, plus a forward-mounted stop screw on the drive side to keep the wheel from slipping forward under the force of your gargantuan legs. The rear dropouts are spaced 135mm instead of 132.5mm like the Cross-Check simply because there are far more options for disc hubs in this spacing. Straggler 650b has braze-ons for fenders, racks and bottle cages. The geometry is slightly different, with angles and tube lengths very close but not identical to the Cross-Check, but like the Cross-Check it’s ready to take you just about anywhere.
