All Box handlebars are engineered and crafted using our Oversized Technology. Handlebars have a dual purpose as they contribute to both steering and pedaling stiffness. By strategically varying wall thicknesses and tube diameters, we have moved material from 3 low-stress areas to zones of high load. This has greatly minimized twists and contributed to responsiveness. Concurrently we have increased pedaling stiffness by providing a backstop to the “lifting” phenomenon. There is no point pushing hard on your pedals if you can’t pull up on your handlebars and deliver that power. Power can easily be lost to handlebar deflection and the consequences can lead to poor power delivery and steering control. When combined with Box’s other Oversized components, you’ll experience heightened responsiveness and reduced latency. Key differences: This particular model handlebar is tailored for larger-sized racers and also takes our application of Oversized Technology one step further as it employs a tougher chromium molybdenum steel. This allows for a greater variation of wall thicknesses to combat the higher loads coming from that extra rider weight. All Jones H-Bars use a 31.8mm stem clamp diameter, 22.2mm clamp size for controls (standard mountain bike style). All my bars are H-bars. H-bar for Handle-Bar. They have the 45 degrees of sweep, the 0.5" vertical offset, and a multitude of hand-positions. But could I offer more, with less? Yes. Back to basics, back to the beginning, with a twist. Well, with a bend....the Bend H-Bar. The original concept, the 45 degrees of sweep but with the bend, where it is, ensures shifters and levers are a simple fit and the one piece butted aluminium construction delivers a bar 170g lighter than a Loop. Less hand position options, less stuff-mounting space, marginally less stiff but all you might ever need in an H-Bar. No more, no less. The Jones Bend H-Bar. The bikes I ride for long distances or at night have the Loop H-Bars so I have more hand positions and mounting points. The all-new Ramble Bar was developed through the teamwork of Golden Pliers and SimWorks. We wanted a handlebar that could accommodate a large front bag and at the same time be aggressive and comfortable with a large sweep angle. This beauty of a bar was inspired while digging through the handlebar graveyard / parts bin for new ideas- scheming on something that would be simultaneously shreddy and comfy. After years of fooling around in the woods, tweaking here and there, it's finally time to release the Ramble Bar as the ultimate turbo cruiser bar. In order to make the most of the hook bend in front of the primary grip, we recommend using a brake lever and shifter with low-profile / minimal clamp area. Furthermore, don't shy away from wrapping bar tape around that hook. Comfort abounds while climbing out of the saddle... A 70-90mm stem will work great with this bar. That considerable sweep won't necessarily play nice with some modern geo's built around longer TTs paired with shorty stems.
