To achieve a complementary climbing ability for this leg-powered DH bike, the leverage curve is optimized, starting with the high-end leverage to maintain that supple, efficient pedaling feel we all love so much. As the leverage decreases slowly through the mid stroke it provides a mountain of support to push against while the end stroke sees the lowest leverage, offering maximum support to pull through and pop back.? Soft and plush is all good, but anyone who's been neck deep in a rowdy, rock-strewn chute knows the value of stiffness in the right places. To increase rigidity the Wreckoning utilizes a 157mm Super Boost rear end. Add in the unified rear triangle and wider main pivot to ensure a firm AF frame when the going gets sideways.? The Jemmy Bar was designed with a few goals in mind: First, we wanted a flat bar geared more toward everyday riding than the Oyster Bar, that didn't sacrifice too much control. Second, we wanted plenty of room between the stem and outer grip section of the bar for straps, accessories, alternate hand positions, you name it. Finally we wanted it to look & feel at home on most ATB's of the 80's and 90's (we recommend a shorter, sub 90mm stem if this is your bike) as well as modern tourers designed around shorter stems and wider bars. With that in mind, the Jemmy Bar was born. It's been tested on everything from Karla & Daniel's touring bikes to our own commuters here in the PNW - If you want a truly versatile bar that is equally at home on a fat tired town bike as it is a modern tourer, This one's for you! This one is an absolute dream come true as we've been huge fans of S&M, and their American Made ethos, ever since our formative years spent prowling the local streets on a BMX bike. Partnering with them is a real honor. These are perfect for your cruiser, MTB, or country bike. They offer a heads up riding position and plenty of leverage for control. The finish is a powder coat in Transparent Gold, Transparent Black, or Clear. They look rad and show off the heat marks from the fabrication process. As clear coats are porous your bars will patina underneath the powder coat. Be aware. "Made in USA" and "Wilde Bicycle Co." are stamped into the steel, but the Wilde logo is just a decal on top of the clear coat that you'll apply yourself. The clamp diameter is 22.2 so you will need shims if you're planning on using a 25.4, 26.0 or 31.8 clamp stem. We recommend utilizing a stem with at least four bolts in the faceplate, you can generate a lot of leverage with these and anything less risks the bars rotating. Traditionally, mountain cleats have only had two material options. Mild steel and brass. This has largely been to ensure that the cleat wore out faster than the pedal interface, but has left us with cleats that are often times very fast wearing, and in all cases, are quite heavy. Enter 6/4 Titanium, only slightly less hard than tool or spring steel used in the pedals, it's a remarkable 2.25 times stronger and 3 times tougher than brass or mild steel. Best of all, the extreme toughness and abrasion resistance of 6Al/4V titanium means that you can expect 300-400% wear life compared to traditional materials. Now we couldn't just stop there, but by combining 3D printing technology with this material that is 1/3 lighter than steel, we are able to achieve a cleat with internal lattice structure (called a gyroid) which maintains stiffness and strength while reducing weight to create a cleat set that is HALF the weight of a standard cleat set. This savings of 25-30 grams per set of cleats is significant over time, particularly in CX events where running is crucial. 25gm reduction x 100 rpm = 180kg of mass not lifted per hour of riding, 90kg per leg!
