It is born from the large Motorsport experience of Pirelli and the collaboration with the factory World Tour teams and it features a single-compound formulation based on three different polymers, each of which provides opposite performances in a perfect blend of grip, speed and reliability. The advanced mixture of polymers with 'smart' behaviors are the key elements of the SmartEVO compound, providing grip in any weather condition and very low rolling resistance in a package made to sustain also high mileage and rougher road surfaces. SpeedCORE™ is an innovative tubeless-ready construction developed by Pirelli (Patent Pending) for our high-performance cycling tyres, representing our most advanced TLR technology to date. Derived from Pirelli automotive know-how and made possible by our newest production plant in Italy, nearby our Headquarter in Milan, SpeedCORE™ construction consists of a thin air-tight layer of rubber compound infused of aramid particles. This layer covers the internal part of the tyre and thanks to the presence of the aramid into the rubber blend, it allows for better mechanical resistance, improved air retention and overall greater flexibility: all contributing to the tyre's overall performance.

The Orondo Grade is a modern tubeless road tire with the performance, comfort and ride feel that our Rene Herse tires are famous for. It’s rated to a max. pressure of 90 psi (6.2 bar)—enough for heavy riders and those who prefer a stiffer feel to their bikes. A high-tech liner keeps our supple casings airtight without making the tire stiff and sluggish.
We name our tires after the roads that inspire them: Orondo Grade is a 7-mile 10% climb up a side canyon of the mighty Columbia River. The Orondo Grade was the half-way point—and often decisive climb—of the near-mythical, long-defunct 285-mile cross-state race, S2S ‘Seattle-to-Spokane.’ Snaking up a canyon carved into basalt cliffs, the Orondo Grade is hot and barren—a true test of endurance. The ultimate 650B bikepacking tire is designed for rides where you don’t know what lies ahead. Umtanum Ridge a steep and lonesome ridge in the central Cascade Mountains. It is so remote that European settlers never renamed it, and it carries its ancestral Native American name to this day.
The Umtanum Ridge’s large and widely spaced knobs grip tenaciosly when conditions get tough. On pavement, it rolls and corners like a slick thanks to its large and strategically placed knobs that don’t squirm and always put the same amount of rubber on the road. At 48 mm wide, the Hatcher Pass hits the sweet spot between narrow gravel tire (38 mm) and mountain bike volume (55 mm) – ideal for the latest generation of gravel and all-road bikes. Named after Lael Wilcox’ favorite road in Alaska, this tire perfect for Hatcher Pass: The front side of the climb is paved and leads to Independence Mine (an abandoned gold mine that is now a state park).
