Shimano Alfine S7001 11-Speed Disc Brake Rear Hub
$459.99

Schmidt SON 28 - 15 x 110mm - 32 hole - ISO Disc Hub - Black Anodized
$402.00
The SON28 has a bit more power at low speed than the SONdelux so it's a bit better for those who use the hub's power for charging a GPS or mobile telephone on tour. Some suspension forks are now being made with 110mm dropout spacing. This allows the disc hub to have symmetrical spoke flange spacing for increased lateral loads. Black, Silver or red only. No photo yet, but these look about the same as the 100mm version above, just a bit wider. Flange spacing, 55mm. The Schmidt Dynamo front hub or SON (Schmidt's Original Nabendynamo) is extremely reliable and has almost no drag. Made by Wilfried Schmidt Maschinenbau in Tübingen, Germany, the hub is quiet and is designed to give at least 50,000 kilometers of trouble free riding between servicings. The hub powers many different six volt headlights including Schmidt's own Edelux II LED headlight and assorted taillights, both older halogen and LED headlamps and taillights made by Busch & Müller in Meinerzhagen, Germany, plus Supernova and Spanninga lights. Many cyclists want to charge a cell phone or GPS while they ride. The SON hubs are ideal for keeping your GPS going. There are several AC to DC converters for this purpose. When your bicycle can make its own light, it becomes a reliable means of transportation, not just a toy or play thing for an afternoon's entertainment or exercise. With an automobile, you take its lights for granted. You get in the car, turn on a switch, and drive on down the road with the light you need. With the SON, you can take quality lighting on your bicycle for granted, just as you do in a car, making your bicycle just as convenient to use for everyday transportation as an automobile. SON dynamo hubs have a five year warrantee. Thru-Axle forks and hubs are much better for bikes with disc brakes than are traditional hollow axle hubs because Thru-Axle hubs ensure perfect alignment of the disc every time you install the wheel. But with a dynamo hub, there's a catch. Standard hubs with Thru-Axles don't require the skewer to be as tight as it would need to be on a traditional hollow axle hub. The skewer only needs to be tight enough so that it doesn't come loose while you ride, whereas a QR in a hollow axle hub must be tighter, lest the hub work its way out of the dropout. So cyclists with Thru-Axle hubs quickly get used to installing the skewer less tightly than they would with a hollow axle. This can cause trouble with a dynamo hub. If the dynamo hub is not held tightly in the Thru-Axle dropouts, the hub will vibrate a bit and the axle will rotate. If it rotates enough there will be stress on the wires and the spade connectors embedded in the axle. Either the wires or the spade connectors will be damaged, and no power will come from the hub. When you first install your SON Thru-Axle hub, carefully notice the orientation of the connectors. Perhaps align them straight down if possible, with the wire then looping around and up the fork blade. Ride for a few minutes with the lights on, or with your phone charging. Then stop and notice if the connectors are still pointed straight down. If they have rotated a bit clockwise, you'll know that your skewer was not tight enough. Make the skewer tighter and do the experiment again. Once you have the skewer tight enough so that the connectors never rotate, you're good to go. **We're known for our custom wheel builds. White Industries CLD Front Hub - 12mm, TA, 32h
$175.80 - $183.10
Our CLD (Center Lock Disc) hubs are designed around the Center Lock splined rotor mounting interface as opposed to the 6-bolt mounting standard used on our XMR hub. The Center Lock system allows us to decrease the flange diameter which results in a slightly lighter hub that’s at home on road builds but retains the durability needed for mountain applications. Made in our shop from U.S. sourced 6061-T6 aluminum, they’re available in a range of drillings, colors, and axle configurations. A question we always get about our disc hubs is, “CLD or XMR? Which is better?”. Neither is “better” than the other. Both share the same internals and the differences really come down to the respective designs having to accommodate the two different rotor mounting interfaces. The CLD has a more compact look and is slightly lighter while the XMR has larger flanges which allows those really cool “windows” to be machined into them. Bottom line is you really can’t go wrong with either hub! Most of the time choosing is simply a matter of which disc rotor system you already have on your bike, so your choice is kind of made for you. And if you’re building a new bike, it’s not a bad idea to stick with the rotor system you’re using on your other bikes, just in case you want to swap things around. And to add to it, Shimano and SRAM don’t offer all their rotor models and sizes in both Center Lock and 6 bolt, so be aware of that when speccing out your new rig. - U.S. made 6061-T6 aluminum - Enduro ABEC 5 bearings - Easily serviceable/rebuildable - Compatible with Center Lock style rotors - Redesigned axle to allow you to use the standard Center Lock lock nut provided with Shimano rotors - Rotor lockrings not included SPECIFICATIONS - 145g - 32H drillings - 100mm O.L.D. dimension (standard fork spacing, non-boost) - 12mm Thru axle - Two Enduro ABEC 5 17287-2rs bearings

All-City Go-Devil Rear Disc
$130.00
Hubs typically seem to fall into two general categories: light and very expensive or heavy and cheap. With this typical bike industry paradigm, we saw an opportunity. You see, for years we've been using high-end geared hubs from the manufacturer of our track offerings on our personal bikes. They are very lightweight (peep the specs) and just plain work. We decided to finally make those hubs available to you and corner the market in our own category: lightweight, affordable, and incredibly practical. We've ridden them on all kinds of bikes from the Electric Queen to the Mr. Pink and we're in love. They are reliable, dang light and very reasonably priced. We offer the Go-Devil in a minimal amount of configurations and ship them with all the necessary endcaps and a quick release skewer, future proofing them in case you want to use them on various bikes over the years. Quick Release lever and 12mm thru-axle endcaps are included. On all models we spec high-quality made in Japan stainless-steel sealed bearings. The splined freehubs have 28 points of engagement, the XD driver has 56. Oh, and we've got polished options as well. Kind of a big deal because polished hubs have become a rarity. - Weight: 277g - Includes 12mm thru-axle end caps and quick release skewer - Drive Side Center To Flange 18.5mm - Non-Drive Center to Flange 34mm - Non-Drive Flange Diameter 58mm - Drive Side Flange Diameter 49mm
